Shou-Sugi-Ban

The innovative spirit and dedication to utilizing new techniques never stops at RAWworxs. In 2014 we started charring wood. We soon learned the Japanese and many other cultures have practiced preservation by wood burning for centuries.

RAWworxs now features products that are reminiscent of the ancient Japanese Shou-Sugi-Ban . A heavily charred board protects against the sun, elements and insects. The charring also brings out the richness of the wood’s grain pattern. Our burnt wood pieces are an excellent choice for any commercial or residential project.
