Stemming from a lifetime of self-expression through creative woodwork, we have developed a rare relationship with our art, which allows us to constantly develop the design elements as they evolve into three dimensional objects. By remaining a small team we are able to discuss and optimize every single detail and decision, from hand selecting the most suitable timber to choosing the best grain for individual components. Whether there’s a complicated technical challenge, an issue with the function of a piece, or simply a chamfer that needs applying or adjusting, we are suitably placed to fine tune it. This rare relationship we have with our sculptures and furniture is at the heart of our business and fundamental in making sure our clients are happy and we continue to produce some of the very finest heirlooms.
At the crux of woodworking is the ability to sculpt and engineer the wood into a purposeful, timeless and functional creation. We know and understand our material in great depth, whether it be reclaimed timbers, exotic grained burls, or a common species. We work within its limitations and we look for its capabilities. Whether the project requires laminating for strength or shaping solid timbers, our workshop and expertise allow us to deal with almost all project types. We work with a range of tools, from high-tech machinery, to hand tools that are steeped in history. They all have a shared and equally important role to play. A precision router accurate to 0.01 of an inch is just as important as a traditional hand plane in the craftsman’s eye.
